Nkpokote Nsukka Forum Communique delivered after a one day Colloquium/Dinner held at IKENGA HOTELS NSUKKA

At the end of a one day Colloquium/Dinner, we the people of Nsukka Cultural Zone hereby make the following resolutions:
1) That we as a people have a common ancestory, culture and geography, and, to this extent, a community liable to common opportunities for progress and challenges of development.
2) We hereby proclaim that our future shall be best served if we form a unity of purpose in social, economic, and, in some respects, political realms.
3) With this sociocultural bond, the corporate interests of Nsukka Cultural Zone, should transcend the narrow interests of individuals and groups as they relate to community development.
4) To the extent of 1-3 above, we hereby proclaim that the people of Nsukka Cultural Zone shall be stronger if we are together.
5) The Nkpokote Nsukka forum shall be the organizational harbinger of this “togetherness”
6) That Nsukka people hereby resolve that an attack against any part of Nsukka is regarded as an attack against the zone.
7) That Nkpokote Nsukka Forum shall galvanize the human and material wherewithal to ensure that Nsukka strengthens it’s collective voice in matters critical to individual and community welfare.
8) That Nkpokote Nsukka disavows of partisan bias in all it’s dealings with individual, corporate bodies and public authorities in pursuit of it’s cardinal goals of welfare and progress for Nsukka people.
9) That the relative under representation of women in zones civil society should be addressed as a matter of urgency.
10) That a positivist mindset is urgently needed if Nsukka people would break the endemic jinx of marginalization in socioeconomic and political spheres of life.
11) We have also resolved to be meeting under the platform of Nkpokote Nsukka at least three times in a year, this will enable us to review the progress made by the forums functional arms in pursuit of our set objectives.
