THE EUCHARIST AS A COMMUNION SACRAMENT SHOULD BIND US TOGETHER

In the Eucharist Jesus nourishes us with the bread of life. To receive in faith the bread of the Eucharist is to receive the Lord himself.
However, it’s not meant to be a one-way traffic. Jesus gives himself to us here so that we in our turn may give ourselves to others. Having received from Jesus, we are expected to give something in return, not to him but to one another.
The Eucharist as a Communion Sacrament should bound us together as a community of God’s people, thus offering us a loving service to one another.
I pray for you that as often as you receive this sacrament worthily, may it transform you into another Christ-like individual imbued with the spirit of service to others.
