Political Reboot: ADC Seeks to Fill Gap Left by Declining Parties

The emergence of the African Democratic Congress which is a conglomeration of people who are disappointed about the decaying situation in the governance of our country, and again people who are partakers in the consummation of the wealth of the country, seems to me to be the beginning of the disintegration and eventual collapse of the bigger political parties in Nigeria.
This was a process already begun by some powerful individuals in Labour Party who I prefer to call the kings of the jungle, though unknown to them that the entry of Peter Obi into Labour Party will spirall the party into the third position overnight. We were hopeful that one day Labour Party will rise and stay on the top. Never did we know that the coming of Abure was going to diminish the party from third position it has already cruised to (if care is not taken), to no position at all.
It will be recalled that before the entry of Peter Obi into the Labour Party, the party has already been antiquated. However, with Obi, a life line was created throughout the country. People established and funded structures free of charge for the party. Today Labour Party has structures all over the place. These structures again is gradually being liquidated by the incidence of the opportunistic politicians decamping to the so called bigger parties hoping to be rigged in. But again this is nothing but a dream inside the ocean with the emergence of ADC. ADC is heading to swallowing even the big three. Look at what Wike and Anyanwu is doing in PDP. The party has turned into their mincemeat because of pursuit for power. Power should be given to those who are fully prepared for it not mediocres.
In well informed climes, people do not fight dirty to acquire power. People seek to be given power honourable and not through do or die. In fact, leaders relinquish power the moment people loose confidence in them. All these is possible because corruption thrives. In this country most people seek for power to turn public wealth into their personal wealth.
Another factor is the incurable incidence of tribalism, outright hatred for a certain tribe. These are grave factors that may derail this beautiful part that ADC has started walking on.
No one will argue that Peter the Rock enjoys total acceptance in the firmament of politics in the country, especially with his enviable record of stewardship and of course beautiful credentials. But what can we do about the Machiavellian and Demagogues who parade and parrage our corridors of power whose stock-in-trade is take it, grab it, and run with it.
Furthermore, LP appears to be heading to the requiem if ADC becomes a fait accompli. The bell is fast tolling and trawling. Those who have less value for character and credibility will now understand that all we have is character and credibility. When they are gone, we are finished.
African Democratic Congress is no doubt a child of necessity whose emergence became inevitable because of APC and PDP rabble, malfeasance, nepotism and seeming abuse of power.
