2024 BUDGET: PROF NNAMCHI MAKES CASE FOR EASTERN NORTHERN RAIL

The lawmaker representing Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency Of Enugu State Hon. Professor Paul Sunday Nnamchi has make case for the accommodation of the resuscitation of the Port Harcourt-Enugu-Karuwa Namoda Rail line in the 2024 budget.

Honourable Nnamchi made the passionate appeal during the 2024 budget debate on the floor of the House of Representatives during plenary on Friday morning.

He said that it was regrettable that the Eastern -Northern rail line had hitherto been excluded by the previous arrangements by the past regimes.

Professor Nnamch who praised President Bola Tinubu for tagging the 2024 budget, “Budget of Hope” since situation of the country led to many having little or no hope in governance again stressed that it was expected that it would bring succor to the ordinary Nigerians.

He also noted that the Eastern-Northern Railway line would apart from contributing immensely to the economy of the country would also provide reasonable employment opportunities for the country’s teaming youths.

Professor Nnamchi a former lecturer at the University of Nigeria Nduka, did not forget his professional constituency, the education as he asked for increase in allocation to the education sector.

“Said he m, Mr Speaker there is need to increase the allocation to the education because a robust educational sector is the cornerstone of national progress and development “.

Professor Nnamchi further stressed that as the representatives of the people, “a lot is on our shoulders and the expectations are high and that is why we must ensure that the future of our youths are secured as the future leader through proper funding for their education “.
