A University Don, Prof. Ikechukwu Vegil Onyishi of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN has said that his decision to hold back on the litany of the needs of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences did not mean they were not pressing, but that he intended to continue privately sharing them with the Alumni and Friends. Prof Onyishi made the revelation during the 48th Induction ceremony of the 2021/2022 graduands of the faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) held recently.
The University Don explained that they have all gathered for the sole purpose of inducting the young graduands to the Pharmacy profession, saying that it was a dream come true in the lives of these ones who would soon become Pharmacists by virtue of a ritual that would be conducted by the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria(PCN). He appreciated the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Charles Arizechukwu Igwe, the First Lion to roar in the Den for all his support so far to the Faculty.
He, however congratulated the graduands and inductees of 2021/2022, and charged them to go out and conquer the world. He quoted the Bible copiously in Gen. Chap. 8:22, “that while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, Summer and Winter, day and night shall not cease.” He commended their resilience and doggedness for the achievement. He equally appreciated parents and guardians of the inductees for investing in the education of their children, noting that investment in human capital development is one of the greatest legacies one can bequeath to any society.
Some of the inductees/graduands include Pharmacists Mama, Ihechi Irene, Ezenwanne, Okenna David, Idoko, Ifechi Blossom, Ugwuda, Collins Chukwucheta and the best graduating Student, Ejiofor, Chizoba Victor.
