EVIL PEOPLE ARE INDUSTRIOUS AND SINGLE-MINDED, GOD’S PEOPLE ON THE OTHER HAND OFTEN SIT AROUND DOING NOTHING

Jesus in today’s gospel is contrasting the industry and astuteness of the children of darkness and the laziness and inertia of the children of light. Evil people are industrious, single-minded, and prepared to make sacrifices in order to achieve evil ends. God’s people, on the other hand, often sit around doing nothing.

For evil to triumph, all that is necessary is that good people do nothing. If only we could be committed to the cause of God as the dishonest steward was to the cause of self-enrichment, then we shall not only make heaven but even the society will be a better place for all of us.

We all lament and also experience the excruciating level of hardship in this country, but most credible and statesmen in this country are mute over the situation. Let us pray to God to give us the wisdom and the courage to confront and weed out the evils in our society for a better society and as well candidates of heaven.
