GOVERNOR IFEANYI UGWUANYI’s MAGNIFICENT “PRESS CENTER” A PARTING GIFT TO NSUKKA

May 27, 2023 will remain indelible in the minds of members of Nigerian Union of Journalists, Nsukka Chapel as His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi delivered a Magnificent “Nsukka Press Centre” near Nsukka Sports Centre to them.
In a short but eventful ceremony which brought members of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nsukka Correspondence Chapel to witness the epoch making event, Governor Ugwuanyi noted that the centre was put together to provide a place of activity for members of the Union’s Correspondence Chapel considering there enormous task for the people. He advised that the place be taken good care of.
In his response, the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Ike Okenyi praised the governor’s resilience, doggedness and commitment to placing Nsukka Urban among cities that cannot be taken for granted when issues relating to mass media is discussed. He thanked the governor and prayed that God will reward him for all his efforts at developing Nsukka and indeed, Enugu State.
The Centre is equipped with the state-of the-art-facilities which includes two conference halls, several office accommodation fully furnished and air-conditioned etc.
It will be recalled that Nsukka Cultural Zone has the greatest number of journalists East of the Niger. Nsukka journalists can also be found in many media houses in Nigeria and beyond.
In attendance were, Comrade Ike Okenyi, Hon. Harrison Ogara, Comrade Nkem Ossai (Odenamuo), Comrade Brendan Eze, Chief Chijioke Attah, Comrade Chris Ezema, Chief Felix Ugwuanyi, Comrade Hillary NANS, Comrade Ikechukwu Ọdụ, Chief Chikwado Ugwu, Lady Obiọma Ogiri, Comrade Vicent Odo, Miss Chiamaka Ezugwu, Comrade Bruno Aruma, and Chris Ugwuja. Also there to grace the occasion were Chief Aka eze Aka, Hon. Onyekachi Ugwu, Bar. Charles Ugwu (the Contractor) and several others.
Handing over the keys to the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ike Okenyi, the Commissioner for Works in Enugu State, Chief Nnaji prayed for Governor Ugwuanyi and urged members of NUJ Nsukka Chapel to take good care of the Center.
