IBAGWA-AKA TOWN UNION HOLDS A FUNERAL CEREMONY FOR SLAIN SECURITY OFFICER – MR. RAPHAEL UGWU

Yesterday, 28th August 2023, Oha Ibagwa Aka, under the auspices of Ibagwa-Aka Town Union (IBTU), held a befitting funeral ceremony for our illustrious son, late Mr. Raphael Ugwu.
It will be recalled that late Mr. Ugwu lost his life in the hands of violent kidnappers early this year.
Mr. Raphael Ugwu, a security personnel living in Eburumiri Ibagwa-Aka met his untimely death while rendering services to our dear community in the fight against insecurities and other social vices. He was brutally murdered by yet to be identified persons allegedly taken to be kidnappers. He has since been buried.
In attendance to honour this fallen hero at the IBTU National Headquarters Ibagwa-Aka were, the Chief Host and PG IBTU, Dr. Patrick Onah, H.R.H. Igwe Hyacinth. I. Eze of Ibagwa Aka – Ezechukwudebelu II; H.R.H., Igwe Emmanuel E. Urama of Ndioke Ibagwa-Aka autonomous community; H.R.H, Igwe (Prof.) Sydney Omeje of Edemani Amebo Ibagwa-Aka Autonomous Community (ably represented by Onowu Sunday Omeke (Ede Ugonabo).
Also present were, the Igwe-elect of the proposed Eburumiri Ibagwa-Aka Autonomous Community, Chief Festus Asogwa, the two past Igbo-Eze South LGA Chairmen, Hons. Dominic Ezema and Fidelis Ezema; Comptroller General of Prison, Alhaji Usman Ukwuaba; Former SLG Igbo-Eze South LGA, Hon. Okechukwu Ukwueze; IBTU Secretary, Hon. Samson Dimma Eze; High Chief Nkem Ossai – CEO Greatmedia Nig. Ltd. and many other distinguished personalities.
The occasion also witnessed the award of scholarships to some of the children of the slain security officer.
Earlier on, IBTU put up and coordinated a platform where various individuals especially from Ibagwa-Aka, offered substantial financial support and contributions for the funeral ceremony and the deceased’s family upkeep.
We pray to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, and urge them to be consoled while noting that death does not strike according to age, thus, death is the end of all and nobody knows the time.
May the Lord grant his soul eternal repose Amen.
