IHO DIMEZE KING EMPOWERS 889 WOMEN WITH N20M AGRICULTURAL GRANTS: SETS FIRM FAMILY ETHICS RULES

Iho Dimeze, Imo State — On Friday, 13th March 2026, 889 women in Iho Dimeze Autonomous Community, Ikeduru LGA, received a total of N20 million in grants under the Agricultural Empowerment Program. The grants were presented by His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Martin Chieze Amaku Dimeze II, who also used the occasion to reinforce family ethics and community development.

Echoing directives from the 2025 Aladinma August Meeting, the monarch emphasized that husbands must provide for children, pay alimony, and ensure the well-being of wives before any separation or divorce. Strict penalties were announced for marital infidelity: married men caught in sexual immorality with another married woman will face a N300,000 fine and public flogging, while women engaging in extramarital affairs will face public disgrace. Widows seeking remarriage were encouraged to act lawfully, and interference in another woman’s marriage was strictly prohibited.

The king also inaugurated the annual Eze ji -Best Yam Harvester Award, offering N100,000 for first place and N50,000 for second place. Under the empowerment scheme. Female farmers received N10,000 each, while neighborhood women farmers were given N5,000 to purchase cassava stakes, okro seeds, maize seeds, fluted pumpkin seeds, garden egg seeds and male farmers received ten yam seeds each.

His Majesty announced that Easter Monday, 6th April 2026, will mark the first anniversary of his presentation of the Staff of Office and Certificate of Recognition* by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, and called on residents to join the celebrations with dance groups and festivities.

He stressed that the Agricultural Empowerment Program is inclusive and non-discriminatory, made possible by contributions from sons and daughters of Iho Dimeze and friends outside the community.
