NKPOKOTE NSUKKA MOVEMENT HOLDS HER MAIDEN CONFERENCE TODAY 7TH APRIL, 2024

A Socio Cultural group, Nkpokote Nsukka Movement has called for unity of purpose among Igbo-Nsukka for development, peace and progress of Nsukka Cultural Zone.

The group made the call on Radio Nigeria Voice FM Nsukka Audience Participatory Programme, “Voice Connect”.

The convener of the group Barr. Barth Ugwuoke explained that the group is not a political organization but meant to bring Nsukka people together to fight a common goal.

Barr. Ugwuoke stated that if stakeholders in Igbo-Nsukka come together to chat a cause, the zone would achieve massive development.

According to him, Nsukka known for unity is no longer the same, hence the need to come together to strengthen the love for which Nsukka is known for.

He called on people of Nsukka Cultural Zone, irrespective of town, community or political affiliation to come out enmass tomorrow Sunday 7th April at Ikenga Hotel by 12 noon to brainstorm on ways to bring Nsukka Cultural Zone to its formal glory.

Contributing, a member of the group, High Chief Nkem Ossai emphasized that Nsukka people have unique features that bindes them together and should remain the same irrespective of challenges.

He noted that members of the group are men and women cut across the zone to ensure that everyone is carried along in the development of the zone and stressed the need for everyone to honour the invitation for the maiden convention at Ikenga Hotel tomorrow Sunday.

Also speaking on the Programme, another member of the group, Hon. Jonathan Emmanuel explained that the group is also meant to encourage Nsukka people to extend hands of fellowship to one another to succeed in life.

Hon Jonathan who went down memory lane in highlighting some illustrious sons and daughters of Nsukka who have in one way or the other contributed in massive development of both human and material resources in the zone. He stressed on the need for everyone to be at Ikenga Hotel tomorrow Sunday to share new ideas on how to move Nsukka forward adding that the time for Nsukka people to join the trend of development is now.
