Onyeka Onwenu dies at 72

Onyeka Onwenu, the legendary artist, sadly passed away yesterday, immediately after her performance at Dr. Mrs. Stella Okoli’s 80th birthday celebration. With a heavy heart, we reflect on the passing of an icon, Madam Onyeka Onwenu. In the 80s, her music was listened to and enjoyed.

Onwenu left a lasting impression, her records becoming a staple during family road trips in the 80s and early 90s, especially on journeys between the east and west. In September 2018, she became a Brand Ambassador for House of Lunettes.

Known for her sweet nature and vibrant spirit, Onyeka Onwenu brought joy wherever she went. As the Diva Extraordinaire, she now joins the stars, leaving a legacy as an angelic presence in the heavens. Rest in peace, Icon!
