OUR STRENGTH IS SPIRITUALLY GREATER AS A COMMUNITY THAN AS INDIVIDUALS
1 min readWe have a duty to correct one another. But we must not commit a sin while doing so. We must not humiliate the person we are reproving to show we are correcting him or her. We must not also do so in anger, but to do so with love and affection.
Correcting with anger will only end up hardening the person’s heart. We are enjoined today to owe no one anything but love, for love sums up our life as Christians.
The insistence on making peace with those who offend us is to strengthen the community bond as children of God. Our strength is spiritually greater as a community than as individuals and that is why Christ said that where two or three are gathered in his name he is there in their midst.
I pray God you win back an erring brother or sister with love and forgiveness.
