A veteran journalist and community leader, High Chief Nkem Ossai said, that the continuous detention of Nnamdi Kanu, a man declared innocent by various courts of the land in Nigeria, is a scar on the forehead of Nigerian government.
Speaking during a gathering of journalists (who were his friends and colleagues while in Port Harcourt), paid him a courtesy visit for the recognition accorded him by his community. Chief Nkem Ossai (Odenammuo 1), warned that as long as Nnamdi Kanu remains in detention, all Igbos are in detention. He added, “like wise his freedom will be likened to the freedom of the entire Ndigbo and will orchestrate the kind of peace and tranquility not known in Igbo land since the end of the civil war, 54 years ago.”
Speaking further, Chief Ossai noted that there is no any Igbo man alive that is as popular and loved by Igbo masses as Nnamdi Kanu adding, “he is a prophet, a hero and one of the great minds in Igbo land saying, “whether you love him or you hate him, there is none like him at present. This is the truth that Nigerians from the other tribes are not prepared to hear.”
He advised President Tinubu to quickly take the glory which former President Buhari carelessly ignored, noting that history will forever remember him especially as he is working hard to assuage the pains of the Igbos after the very controversial election.
