A Bill for an Act to Establish Federal Vocational and Skills Acquisition College, Ibagwa-Aka – Enugu State passed through first reading on the floor of the House of Representatives on Tuesday , 2nd July, 2024 in Abuja.
The Bill is among other people-oriented bills sponsored by Hon. Chidi Mark Obetta of the Labour Party ,representing Nsukka/ Igbo-Eze South in the House of Representatives.
The proposed bill when passed into law would assist in addressing the problem of unemployment among the Nigerian youths not only in Enugu North Senatorial Zone but across Enugu State.
The sponsor of the bill believes that education is not restricted to formal form and to this end, he appraises the need to embrace non-formal education for better skill acquisition.
The establishment of the proposed vocational school which the bill seeks to achieve would provide the proper learning environment for men, women and youth who are skilled and talented to develop further while also giving starters the opportunity to learn.
