Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has alleged that he came under pressure from prominent figures to delete a social media post concerning the outcome of the Osun State election.

Davido made the claim during an interview with News Central following the election, according to a post shared by X user Morris Monye.

Speaking about events surrounding the election, the singer said he was informed that the Senate President was attempting to contact the coalition centre. He further alleged that he received a call from the Senate President asking him to delete his post.

Davido said he declined the request.

The singer also claimed that billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote contacted him and similarly asked him to take down the post.

According to Davido, he told Dangote that he would not delete the post until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared his uncle the winner.

“He also called me to delete tweet. I refused. Dangote also called. I said I won’t delete till INEC declares my uncle as winner,” Davido was quoted as saying in the post.

The comments have generated attention online, particularly because of Davido’s well-known support for his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, in Osun State politics.

The interview comes amid heightened public discussion surrounding the aftermath of the Osun election, with political developments and claims by various parties continuing to attract reactions on social media.

Davido has remained outspoken on political issues in Nigeria in recent years, particularly during elections involving members of his family.

The allegations contained in the interview have not been independently verified from the screenshot alone, and the identities of those who allegedly contacted Davido and the exact circumstances surrounding the reported conversations would require confirmation from the individuals involved or other reliable sources.
