“BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD”

1 min read

Christ in today’s gospel went to a lonely place to commune with God. What makes loneliness painful is not the absence of people because one can still be lonely in a crowd but the emptiness we feel, therefore, we fill the void with endless distractions.

Actions that is rooted in the shallow soil of life without prayer can be dangerous.

Psalm 46:10 “Be still and Know that I am God”. The action of going to a lonely place to pray by Jesus in today’s gospel is not an escape, from troubles around him but a step to re-engagement. Job in his sufferings found the grace to cope through prayers and aloneness with God.

I pray that amidst the vicissitudes of life, you too will draw strength from God through aloneness with Him in prayers as Job and Christ did in today’s readings.

Happy First Sunday of the month of February! Fadafido Cares!
