SUNSHINE IN RAIN; HOPE IN DESPAIR (Nigerian Youth Story)
1 min readThough I stand and stare in rags,
With allures of shreds and cramps,
Yet in me I see a picture so sweet,
An image cuddled in smiles and suits.
For what I see within,
Surpasses what I see around,
And my sight draws my flight,
And makes me to stand and fight.
My mission is drawn by vision,
Much as my action from introspection.
And though I may in filth stand aside,
I must keep my mind on the beauty inside.
For the beauty I see when I look within,
Dulls and dwarfs my neighbourly beams,
And yet sparks me to strive to be,
To realize that best version of me.
In all, though Nigeria shoves us into the dregs,
We must keep an eye on the star within that begs,
For no matter the battles with us at par,
There is Sunshine in rain, hope in Despair.
