THE CHRISTIAN GOD IS A COMMUNITY OF LOVE

The Christian God is not a remote God, not a Deus Otiosus, a lonely God that watches over us from a distant heaven. The Christian God is a community of love. This community consists of three distinct persons; the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who wants to share their love with us. Their presence in our lives as three persons in one God shields us against a sense of abandonment and despair. The Trinitarian God thrives in love that dwells among them.

I pray that we too imbibe this communitarian love as expressed by the God we worship in our relationships with one another either in the family, the Church or the society we live.
