EVEN THE HOLY FAMILY HAD THEIR OWN MISUNDERSTANDING AND WORRIES

Today is the great feast of the Holy Family. Its obvious that from the story of the gospel, the Holy family was no different. They too had their misunderstandings and worries. And yet it is this family that is given to us today as an example and an inspiration. It means that being a holy family doesn’t mean being a perfect family rather it does mean learning to live together in harmony despite the tensions and the strains.
The key to a holiness of a family is for the man to love the wife, the woman to respect the husband and the children to obey their parents.
I pray in this Mass for an understanding that will pull you through the occasional tensions in your family as did the Holy family at the loss of their only child through Christ Our Lord Amen!
As we tilt towards the end of the year, I appeal that you forgive the wrongs that have been done to you and ask forgiveness for the wrongs you have committed in your family. Find each other again within the household of love in imitation of the Holy family.
