PRAYER MAY NOT CHANGE THE WORLD FOR US BUT IT CAN GIVE US THE COURAGE TO FACE IT

Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of America once said: “Courage is not having the strength to go on, it is going on when you don’t have the strength.”

Today’s lessons centered on prayer, perseverance and courage. To pray means to rely on God’s strength and not on our own. A prayer is answered, not when we get what we ask for, but when we are granted a sense of God’s nearness, an assurance that God has not abandoned us.

Prayer may not change the world for us, but it can give us the courage to face it. Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane: “Father, if it be your will, let this cup pass me by. That prayer was not answered, but through it, Jesus got the strength and courage to face his passion.

When we learn how to pray, we learn not just how to recite words but how to open our hearts to God with trust, courage, persistence, and perseverance that He will not abandon us. Pray for me as I celebrate my birthday tomorrow, 20th October, 2025.

Happy Sunday, beloved in Christ!
