THE NAMELESS GENTLE WOMAN IN TODAY’S GOSPEL IS AN EXAMPLE OF THAT FAITH WE ALL NEED

Sometimes it seems easier to give up and throw in the towel amidst the challenges and temptations of life. But because of faith, we refuse to give up. Because we have faith we refuse to give in to despair in the face of vicissitudes of life.

A person with a grain of faith never gives up in life. The nameless gentile woman in today’s gospel is an example of that faith we all need. She refused to give in to Christ’s perceived insult but her love for her daughter and faith in Christ kept her pushing till Christ heard her cry of help.

I pray for such unshakeable faith in you that no matter the level of frustration or challenges in life, no matter how long you feel your prayers are taking without answer, may you like this poor gentile woman persevere till the door opens at the end of the tunnel.
