WELCOME TO THE MONTHS OF HOPE AND RESTORATION
2 min readMy dear people of Enugu State, I specially welcome you to the EMBER MONTHS. For decades now, the superstition often associated with the last four months of the year has persisted: there is fear, consternation and desperation.
Today, I wish to assure you that there are no evil spirits that specialize in haunting the months of September, October, November and December! Sometimes, in our desperation to succeed and end the year on a high, we approach the final months of each year without paying attention to safety and discretion. Henceforth, therefore, let us not overlook the simple, yet critical, measures necessary to guarantee our individual and collective safety. Accidents are not caused by spirits. Nor do they lie in wait to afflict people at given times of the year. Researches have shown that most accidents occur because human beings cause them to happen — human error, they called it.
For us ndi Enugu, this year’s EMBER months are expected to bring good pieces of news. The electoral battle we have been fighting, for precisely one year now, is likely to end in an EMBER month.
Ndi Enugu, please let us not approach the EMBER MONTHS of 2023 with desperation and apprehension, but with hope and expectation of an enduring restoration for us and our dear state. While we wait for this restoration, we do not want to lose any of us, in whole or in part, to the avoidable hustle and bustle of the EMBER MONTHS. Our wish is to do a head count at the end of the year and be assured that as many of us as commenced this journey would be in the number that ended it in good health of mind, body and soul.
Once again, welcome to the EMBER MONTHS of hope and restoration.
May God bless us all.
